How To: Put on a pair dread falls that are mounted on lace
I know this one is needed and I did all the pictures a while ago but decided to finaly get this done. I hope this will help some people out.

This tutorial can be used on other types of falls mounted on lace as well. The important part of the tutorial is the proper placement of the buns on the head. Some steps can be skipped but I did this so it's completly from begging to end type of tutorial.

Warning: Lot's of pictures! Not the best pictures either since i had to take them myself while trying to do it as well.

The Buns-Important tips and placement of the buns.

Step 1
: You need to make a part in your hair down the center of your head all the way back and loosly tie them so they are in separate sections so you can work with them easily.

Step 2: Pull your hair up and secure a high ponytail on top of your head. Note the placement of it.

Step 3: Twist hair into a bun. All you need to do to make it is twist the hair and wrap it so that it doesn't untwist and forms the shape.

Should look kinda-sorta like this after it is secured with a thick hair tie.

Step 4: Important is the placement of this bun! You need the weight of the falls to be balanced on your head. If it's back to far your neck will hurt like hell. If it's too low it looks silly and it will pull on the roots of your hair. The bun need to be where your head starts to flaten out. Just feel your head and you should find it.

Step 5: Secure the bun with hair pins. This helps keep it sturdy and make sure you do not put the pins in close to your head!!! When the weight of your falls smashes down on your head they will press right into your head....it hurts....trust me.

Step 6: For thick hair like mine I make the base a little more sturdy with wraping the hair with some stretch lace. It also hides the fly aways and the color of my hair. You could use panty hoes too for this.

Step 7: If I accomplish anything with this tutorial it will be PLACEMENT! This is how the buns should look on top of your head. I have long thick hair so my buns are always on the high side no mater what I do but you should try to get them as compact as you can.

Putting on the hair

At this point you should be fully dressed and have your headband on.....it is very difficult to get anything on over your head once the dreads are on.

Step 1: The fun part is getting it on top of your head. All you do is make sure the dreads you want on top and facing foward are in the right position and then put the base of that on top of your bun like so....

Step 2: Now wrap the lace aroun the bottom of the bun (the end toward your ear) and then bring it up and tie it. Don't tie it underneath cause the knot can press into your head from the weight. Also don't tie it tight it can actualy pull your hair tighter on your head causing one heck of a headache.

Step 3: Taking the extra lenght of the ends criss cross them and wrap around the oposite bun and back up and tie it. Making a figure eight on the top of your head helps with the weight and to keep it steady.

Step 4: Repeat Steps 1-3 for second fall. Make sure the falls feel steady and your not in pain before you do the next steps. It easier to undo the falls at this point to correct any problems.

and you should look like this...

Step 5: Secure the bottom layer of dreads around your bun. This hides your hair color and keeps your top layer of dreads from showing off those pins and keeps them fre moving.

Step 6: To help hide the nice part look on your head I criss cross a few dreads from each side and then pin them in the center.

Step 7: Voi La you are done! Now take some pain killers if your not used to the weight of the falls. It takes some time to get used to the weight but pop some pain killes to help with the headache you will get...it's inevitible...but if you do this right and your falls are shorter then waist length you can do this with out pain. This set always kills me to wear it. My shorter sets I have no problems with pain. PLACEMENT is key to all of this plus the security of the fall to your head. Have fun and good luck!

I hope you all find it useful!
